Don’t be surprised when you can’t choose between mouth watering mandarin, authentic mexican, spicy italian, premium prime-rib, rack of lamb, or good ol’ broiled burgers. And as your fun-filled day comes to a close and you watch the sun gently set in glittering hues of orange and red.... .. . . . . . . .

Gar arrived at 6:30 am on Balboa Island to find a great place to take pictures of the Balboa Island Parade. I met him on the Bridge several hours later and I now appreciate how much work, persistence and patience goes in to Gar’s work.
I would never be able to stand there waiting for 5 hours for the parade to even start. Much less be able to deal with the myriads of people around him while he is trying to take these pictures. Gar is always the Southern Gentleman.
Gar said, “This is a small crowd compared to the ones I usually shoot in.” I can’t imagine!! I certainly have a new respect for these photographs and all the other ones he takes for me during the year. Thanks Gar!!
